MARK.MODA is a fashion platform built around a visual constructor of looks: part shop window for leading online stores, part social network for stylists and fashion lovers.
UX/UI for the website and the mobile app in 2019, from the look feed, catalog and product pages to the virtual fitting room and a courses section, plus promotional materials.
Fashion platform built around a look constructor
MARK.MODA is a visual constructor of looks. It lets anyone take part in the fashion world: put outfits together like a professional stylist from the products of current collections, train their sense of style, and buy the pieces from leading online stores, choosing the best offer. The platform doubles as a social network where stylists, fashion designers, bloggers and shoppers publish their looks and follow each other.
We designed the UX/UI of the website and the app and the promotional materials in 2019. The look follows a fashion editorial: headlines in Playfair Display, a transitional serif from the age of pointed steel pens, interface text in Roboto Condensed, a palette of black, white and one red for actions, and full-height model photography cut out on light grey.
Website: look feed, catalog and product page
The home page leads with the top women's looks of the day, fashion news and an endless feed of looks, each shown as a figure next to the pieces it is made of. Members publish their looks to that feed, subscribe to each other, rate and comment, and the most popular looks rise to the top. The header splits the store into For her and For him, adds the courses, and keeps a red Create a look button in reach.
The catalog opens on categories such as suits, knitwear, outerwear, jackets and accessories, a row of brands and a filtered product grid. A product page pairs the item and its price with the looks that already use it, so a shopper sees how the piece is worn before buying.
Mobile app and the virtual fitting room
The mobile app carries the feed, the catalog and the look builder into more than thirty screens, from a New mannequin available announcement to sign-up with Facebook. Looks are built on the phone the same way as on desktop: pick a mannequin, then dress it from the catalog piece by piece.
The look constructor is the core of the product. On desktop the catalog sits next to a full-height mannequin, with a separate tab for choosing the mannequin itself. Users can also have a digital copy of themselves made in the MARK.MODA studio and save their own parameters, so a look shows how the pieces will sit on their figure and which size to pick.
Courses for stylists and fashion professionals
For stylists the platform is also a working tool: realistic, high-resolution looks go straight into look-books and presentations without a photo shoot. A courses section adds education, with a catalogue of courses, brand pages, a course page with its expert teachers, training programme and reviews, a lecture page with a practical part and questions, and a feed of students' work, all repeated in the app.
The presentation closes on the mission the client set for MARK.MODA, to become the best fashion platform and online service for everyone, shown through the same cut-out looks that fill the feed.

Questions about this project
What is MARK.MODA?
MARK.MODA is a fashion platform built around a visual constructor of looks. Users put outfits together from current collections, buy the pieces from leading online stores, and publish their looks in a social network of stylists, fashion designers, bloggers and shoppers.
What did thelegacy design for MARK.MODA, and when?
In 2019 we designed the UX/UI of the MARK.MODA website and mobile app and its promotional materials: the look feed, catalog and product pages, the look constructor with a virtual fitting room, and a courses section.
How does the MARK.MODA look constructor work?
The catalog sits next to a full-height mannequin that the user dresses piece by piece, on desktop and on the phone. Users can also have a digital copy of themselves made in the MARK.MODA studio, so a look shows how the pieces will sit on their figure and which size to pick.
